Befriend the frog and don't let the balls reach the Skull
Zuma Deluxe is a classic PC puzzle game developed by PopCap. Its dynamics are quite simple: you must create groups of three or more same-colored balls in order to burst them, and thus prevent them from reaching the Skull. In order to perform this task, you have a frog located in the center of the screen responsible for constantly throwing colored bubbles, that you have to match with those in the chain to make them explode. A level is completed once you have exploded all the balls in the chain. You are able to keep track of your progress and see how much you have left to win thanks to a bar located in the upper part of the screen. On the downside, you lose a life if any balls finally reach the Skull.

This game's name comes from Montezuma, an Aztec leader. This explains why almost the entire gameplay has an Aztec theme. Zuma Deluxe is a good way to put your concentration skills and reflexes to the test. However, some users criticize Zuma Deluxe for having a repetitive soundtrack and first levels that are too simple; and also because after some time playing, it tends to be monotonous.
Zuma Deluxe has two game modes: Adventure and Gauntlet. Adventure is the main mode and only once you have completed all its phases will you be able to unlock Gauntlet. It has 22 levels distributed in three groups of seven levels each. The remaining level is the final one, and it doesn't have the tribal appearance the previous ones had, as it is set in the Galaxy. In Adventure mode, you have three lives available to start playing. However, the more points you accumulate, the more lives will be given to you. As you move forward through the levels, different colors of balls will appear: you start with blue, yellow, red and green, and later colors like purple or white are included.
As well as all this, Gauntlet mode allows you to come back to completed levels, in order to beat your last score. In fact, you can choose to play Gauntlet in an endless mode, in which the balls' colors change and speed increases, turning it into a more challenging experience. In both modes, you can take advantage of special and free power-up balls (Slowdown, Reverse, Accuracy and Explosion) that will help you to fulfill your tasks. Explosion balls destroy all the bubbles around their radius; Accuracy balls provide a smoother control of bubbles; Reverse balls make the chain move in the opposite direction; and Slowdown balls make the bubbles' movement slower. All of these power-ups get activated when you burst a bubble with the power-up symbol.
